| IP - Ingress protection refers to the resilience against water and vapour ingress to
the light fixture. Below is a guide only. |
| IP44 |
medium protection; suitable for external wall mounted or
covered areas |
| IP54 / IP65 |
high protection suitable for exposed areas, typically above
ground |
| IP67 / IP68 |
Extreme protection; suitable for in-ground mounting and
submergence in shallow water. |
A Word on Bathroom Zones…
| Refers to latest Building Regulations for electrical devices. The registered
electrician is responsible for the compliance of a fixture installed in the bathroom. |
| ZONE 0 - IP68 |
submersible / water-tight; sauna, steam rooms & within pools |
| ZONE 1 - IP65 |
jet-proof; mounted within the area of bath & shower, up to
2.25m height. |
| ZONE 2 - IP44 |
splash-proof; mounted within 600mm of basin. |
| ZONE 3 |
All other areas outside area of bath / basin and above 2.25m do
not require vapour resilience |
